Santa's Lap

So yesterday we took Jack to have his picture taken with santa. I was confident that it would go well because Jack will let anyone pick him up or hold him. I don't know if this is a good or bad thing by the way? It went great but was hard to get a good picture as Jack would not stop looking up at him. It's hard to believe that Christmas is only 2 weeks away. This year has truely flown by!

Picture Post

So my computer FINALLY stopped hating blogger as far as posting pictures goes! Here are a few pictures from the past month. Jack is getting so big and discovering new things on a daily basis. He now has 7 teeth. I have been tagged to post 7 random things about myself so I may have to think about this. I am taking a computer class tomorrow so I am sure I will have plenty of time to brain storm some interesting things to post. OK. I am very sleepy and must go to bed now.

Such a big boy.

So on Monday Jack had a doctors appointment for some immunizations and a general check up. He weighs 19 pounds and I forget how many inches he is. He is in the 75th percentile for weight and the 95th for length. The doctor commented on what a "long slender baby" he is. He has deffinetly lost all baby fat. Not that there was ever alot to begin with. He is really looking more and more like a "little boy". His newest tricks are clapping and he can go from a laying down position to sitting up all by himself. This morning I noticed him clawing/grabbing at the couch I think in an attempt to pull himself up. It's funny to see his little personality start to come out. The other day he was playing with my keys and began to suck on them and I took them away from him and he started screaming which has never happened before when I have taken something away. He just talks and talks which always makes Mike and I laugh outloud becuase his little voice is so cute! He is probably going to start to crawl soon because he has started getting all of the way up on his hands and knees and rocking back and forth. He usually does that until one of his arms gives out and he falls on his face.
The other week we bought him a halloween costume. It is a puppy costume which is basically just a sleeper outfit with a tail and a hood with ears. He looks very cute in it and we will probably dress him up in it for our church halloween party. Once again I need to learn how to post pictures on here!

I Heart Cincinnati

First of all I really need to learn how to post pictures to go along with my posts. Instead you can visit this link and view our online web album. http://picasaweb.google.com/maryjovasquez

OK. Back to my blog.

So over all our trip was enjoyable. On the way there we had a two hour layover in the Cincinnati airport and that by far is the nicest airport I have ever been in!! Really nice places to eat and really neat stores. There is even an Outback Steakhouse there. While in NYC we did all of the typical tourist things such as the statue of liberty and Ellis island. We went to ground zero and walked around the financial district. We also went on a tour of the Radio City Music Hall. We spent two days is Connecticut visiting Mike's family.

I have decided that once you go to NYC there is really no need to go back again. This was my second time and it wasn't as fun/exciting as the first. The first time everything is new.

In other news Jack is going to be a puppy for Halloween. So I will post pics.

Out of town visitor

I love how you can be 25, married and have a child but your mother still treats you like you are in elementary school. My mom is in town this week visiting and watching Jack while I am at work. Mike is in Vegas this week for work. I love having my mom visit becuase dinner is ready when I get home from work, she does my laundry and cleans my whole apartment!! This morning she even insisted on packing a lunch for me. I believe I may be the only one who has a brown bag lunch here in my office today.

On the 4th we are leaving for NYC/Connecticut for a week to visit Mike's family and do some sight seeing. I am really excited but hessitant to travel that far with a baby. I am not looking forward to the 6 hour plane ride and a 3 hour time difference throwing off his schedule!! Not to mention that his top teeth are coming in so that always makes for a good time! My mom discovered that it looks like the front four our coming in. Not just the front two but also the ones next to those. I also need to go buy the boy some actual winter clothes that I know he will probably not wear once we get back to southern California.

Feeling HOT HOT HOT

So anyone that that watches the news or lives in Southern California knows that it has been rediculously hot! It wouldn't be that bad but when you are used to alot cooler weather and do not have central air, as most apartments don't its not very fun! Our only solution to this problem was to not stay at home. Friday night when Mike got home from work we went to the mall and just walked around enjoying the free A.C. Saturday we went to Target, Baby's R Us and out to pizza. At Baby's R Us we bought Jack this great high chair that that hooks onto our dinning room table and Jack really likes it becuase he is part of the action and can see me in the kitchen and feels like he is part of the family during meals. The only down side is that he has discovered banging his sippy cup on our (somewhat) new table. I need to find a placemat to absorb some of the abuse from the table. Sunday night we went swimming and Jack enjoyed it alot more than his previous dip in the pool a couple of months ago. He even went under water a couple of times and he didn't even cry. Monday Mike and I both had the day off so we drove to L.A. to visit our friends the Peelers. They live in alot cooler weather and have A.C.!!!! We went to lunch at El Torito Grill then stopped at Baby's R Us on the way back to their house. We watched the movie 300 which seemed to not really have a story just a bunch of fighting.

Last Sunday Mike's mom came to visit and watched Jack during the day while Mike and I were at work. Jack really seemed to enjoy staying at home with her and she bought him lots of great clothes and toys. I have taken lots of pictures but just need to figure out how to post them.

Begining of a blog

I always enjoy reading other peoples blogs and this is something Mike has always made fun of me for. He has always said I should start a blog but I have always felt like our life is not that interesting.

Mike and I were married in Dec. '01 and had a baby in March '07. We currently live in Orange County California. Mike graduated in December from Cal State Fullerton with a degree in International Business and a degree in Japanese. He works at a company where they make fish food. I work at a property management company in Anaheim. In our spare time we like to hang out with Jack.

We will update this blog from time to time with pictures and any exciting things that happen to us!
