Potty Training

Last night while at Target I bought a pack of peanut M&M's to keep in our cupboard as a treat for Jack for going potty. While he has never had peanut M&M's he wanted one right away but Mike explained to him that he would only get one when he goes pee in the potty. Well by the time we got home, after stopping at Olive Garden for dinner, Jack had forgotten about the M&M's. So this morning after getting out of the bath and sitting on the couch wrapped up in his towel I asked Jack if he needed to go pee. Then he got super excited because he remembered the M&M's. So he went pee on his little potty then I told him to go put on some underwear thinking that maybe I could get him to wear underwear for a little bit but I found him in his closert trying to reach his diapers. I asked him if he wanted to wear underwear and he said no and then I asked him if he wanted to wear a diaper and he said yes. Then of course he wanted his M&M!

I am really just trying to follow Jack's cues and don't want to force him to wear underwear or drag him to the toilet crying. I would rather change diapers then scrub pee out of my carpet all day. Last thursday he wore underwear for a good 4 hrs. without any accident. He even sat through dinner just fine. I would really like to have Jack potty trained by the time I have the baby but that is less than four months away!! I would like to do this not so much because I hate changing diapers because I don't but it's more because diapers are expensive and 2 in diapers in twice the $$.

I seriously, seriously wish there was somebody I could just pay to do this. lol And you would think that with the promise of an M&M everytime he goes pee would be a good incentive but apparently Jack doesn't care that much?

Update

Nothing big in particular has been happening. Just a bunch of fun little things! My pregnancy is going good and I seem to be getting bigger and bigger. Although it really is just all baby. (Still have not gained any weight) Sorry I just had to add that in lol. This baby seems to move around alot more than Jack did at this stage in the pregnancy. Mike has even felt him move which is always exciting.

For some reason we have "issue's" thinking of boy names so if we have anymore boys we will have real problems naming them. As of now the baby's name is Hudson and it probably won't change. Hudson Thomas. I think Jack may be understanding some more of the fact that we are having a baby and currently likes to talk about how when the baby is born they can take a bath together lol.

My sister and her family came to visit a couple of weekends ago and she has a 3 month old but she is the size of a newborn and only weighs 8 lbs. because she was 2 months premature. Jack was OK with her but at one point pulled on both of her legs at the same time. I can't remember why he did this but it didn't seem to bother her. He probably wanted to move her? Jack didn't act jelous at all while I held her but it may have been that he had my neice and nephew to play with so he really didnt want/need my attention. He liked to help with her and would get me wipes when I changed her. I told Mike it was a dry run for when we have the baby. I think the main thing I am going to have to remember is that Jack can't be trusted with the baby and will really have to be watched with him but I kind of knew that. Only 4 more months!

FOOD

Jack is not the cleanest eater and his biggest issue is that he likes to stand at the coffee table and eat instead of sitting at the table. I guess it is my part for not enforcing it?! I was looking at the pictures on my camera and noticed that most of them were Jack eating. I like to take pictures of him eating because they always make me laugh.

The first one is of him eating a chocolate ice cream bar. You may notice that he is sitting on the couch. I know, what was I thinking?

The second on is of him playing with his trains and note the pile of spaghetti shoved in the tunnel! This afternoon he wanted to eat left over noodles for lunch so I just handed him the bag they were in, expecting him to climb up on the couch and eat them. So as I was eating my own lunch i noticed that he was in his room playing with his trains. I thought nothing of it because they were just plain noodles that I knew would not make a mess. Then I noticed that he had made them into a pile and making the trains drive through them. Then literally 10 mins. later he was eating yogurt at the coffee table when he spilled half of it then just started to lick it up. I just let him. I am constantly wiping the table and knew it was clean! haha

Baby makes 2

Boys that is! Well 3 if you count Mike. This morning we found out that baby #2 is a boy! I kinda had a feeling and wasn't that surprised. I really enjoy having a little boy and seriously don't know what I would do with a little girl. Maybe it's because I am not super girly myself. I have saved all of Jacks old bottles and sippy cups so that is nice that I don't have to make a little girl carry around a blue cup or a green bottle. It will make sharing a room very convenient and we won't have to buy as much stuff for the baby as we would have to if it were a girl.
The ultra sound tech. said that everything looked perfect so that is nice to hear and it's nice to see that everything is where it should be and growing normally!

Things that make you say hhmmmm.............

I often find myself observing "odd" things where it's like "seriously"? I have realized that this usually happens while I am driving by myself and I am just looking around like is anyone else seeing this? Of course Jack doesn't know what is going on and he is usually asleep.

Take today for example, I was at a red light and this guy is walking down the street and he pulls out an inhaler, like you see people who have asthma using. Then he uses it, puts it back in his pocket and pulls out some cigarette's and starts smoking lol. I was just like wow that is ironic! Like this guy is thinking "wow I am having some trouble breathing.......... oh this cigarette should help the situation".

Did you know the state of Missouri has the most smokers out of all of the other states? When we first moved here we were like wow alot of people smoke! You just see them walking around, driving and every where you go then I saw on the news that MO has the most smokers and I was like yeah I could have told you that! About half of the restraunts here ask "smoking or non smoking". It's kind of weird after living in Cali for so long.

Last month we went out to dinner and we were wating for a table and this couple walks in and they told the hostess that they wanted a "smoking table" and the hostess was like oh we are non smoking and so they just turned around and left. Mike and I just looked at each other and It's like these people couldn't even eat a meal without smoking! Then I was just thinking that they could have ordered then went outside and smoked or something like that but apparently not.

OK that is enough of my rant

LONG OVERDUE!!

So it has been like 2 months since I last posted. There have been many times where I have thought "I need to get on my blog" but haven't. There have also been some exciting things happening. On March 20th I found out that I am pregnant (I think most people know that by now) I am 14 weeks and over any sort of morning sickness/yuckyness that I had before. This pregnancy has been easier than with Jack as far as morning sickness. I also found out today that I have gestational diabetes like I did with Jack which is always good times (sarcasm). My due date is Nov. 25th and we find out the sex in July which I am excited about!

We (Jack and I) have been staying pretty busy during the days while Mike is at work. We go to a little play/mom group twice a month and have made friends with a couple in our building that has a little boy the same age as Jack so we usually get together and do something once a week. Jack still has an obsession with pretty much all animals and is talking more and more. He says about half of the colors blue, black, green, yellow and pink. He will say things like "Blue car" when we are driving down the street and random things like that when he see's them.

On Friday night we had our first "child saying something embarrasing" moment. We were eating dinner in a restaurant and I said to Mike "I have to go to the bathroom really quick" and Jack starts to stand up because he wants to come with me and Mike tells Jack to sit down and by this time Jack is standing up in the booth and says "No, mama pee pee". I guess because he wanted to come to the bathroom with me? Mike and I just started laughing.

Jack's Birthday

OK first of all I realize that his birthday was last week (March 12) but I was busy and it took me a while to put pics. on my computer. Mike's mom came to visit for a week and the actual day of his birthday it was really cold so we went to this place called The Magic House in St. Louis. It was alot of fun and Jack always enjoys it. Time went buy really fast and before I realized it it was almost 4pm. and I had to get home and make dinner so I had to pick him up kicking and crying. Side note: Terrible two's are in full effect! We came home and ate dinner, opened presents and then had cake and ice cream. It was pretty low key but compared to last year when we did absolutely nothing because we were in the middle of moving out here it was fun. And like my mom always says "He won't even remember it". lol

Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure....
